DescriptionPrint showing islands with area of mainland at the bottom, each area of colour created using individual shaped plates. Printed in prussian blue, grey-blue and yellow ochre ink. In a conversation with master printer Ian McNicol on 21st June 2018, he noted that the whole background was printed from one plate while the other areas of colour were printed from prints cut to shape. The largest shape at the bottom is printed using the back of a plate and at the top right, a rusted plate has been used.
